Library Resource Center:
The resource database contains information on the community services individuals and communities need to sustain and improve their daily lives--health care and childcare, job training, education and recreation, retirement, disability and social service information. This Directory contains information on nonprofit and public health and human service programs and some for-profit programs such as housing. As in a library, information is logically organized according to a standard classification system known as the INFO-LINE Taxonomy.

MIFA serves over 60,000 individuals annually through programs in three areas of focus: sustain the independence of seniors, stabilize and transform families in crisis and equip urban teens for success.
Food & Nutrition Services:
As of Oct. 1, 2008, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the new name for the federal Food Stamp Program. The new name reflects the changes we’ve made to meet the needs of our clients, including a focus on nutrition and an increase in benefit amounts. SNAP is the federal name for the program. State programs may have different names.
Catholic Charities:
Catholic Charities USA is the national office for over 1,700 local Catholic Charities agencies and institutions nationwide. Catholic Charities USA provides strong leadership and support to enhance the work of local agencies in their efforts to reduce poverty, support families, and empower communities.
Catholic Charities (Memphis):
Catholic Charities of West Tennessee emulates the teachings of Jesus Christ by providing excellent human services to the poor and vulnerable while advocating for the dignity and rights of all people in West Tennessee.
Salvation Army Shelter:
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. The Salvation Army serves the community with homeless shelters, elderly services, youth camps and a wide variety of other programs and services.
Memphis Union Mission:
Memphis Union Mission ministers to the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of men, women and children who are homeless, addicted, and in crisis. The ultimate objective for clients is for them to: Become mature disciples of Jesus Christ, Achieve freedom from substance abuse, Reunite with family and loved ones and Reemerge as self-sufficient members of the community.
YWCA:
The YWCA is the oldest and largest multicultural women's organization in the world. We provide safe places for women and girls, build strong women leaders, and advocate for women's rights and civil rights in Congress. Women come to us in times of crisis, as survivors of rape or domestic violence. They come for job training and career counseling. They come for childcare. They come for health and fitness. They come for a variety of reasons. But they come. And they leave with a renewed spirit, new skills, and stronger lives.
