Loaves and Fishes:
Loaves and Fishes serves between 150-200 meals to the hungry six days a week and distributes food to area agencies through volunteer efforts. Loaves and Fishes received 13,869lbs of food in 2006 and served 49,158 meals. Loaves and Fishes also has a Food Distribution Center that helped 5,168 people in 2006 up from 3,097 in 2005.
Community Action Agency:
The Clarksville / Montgomery County Community Action Agency was chartered in 1978 under a staffing grant from the
Community Services administration and was designated the Community Action Agency by Local and State Government. We
serve the citizens of Clarksville and Montgomery County in Tennessee.
The purpose and function of this agency is to open avenues of escape from poverty. Our agency operates on a variety of fronts. We assess the needs and resources of low-Income people, devise strategies for eliminating poverty, identify sources of financial
support and administer a variety crisis and self-sufficiency of programs. Our programs and services help individuals and
families to help themselves.
Operation Excel:
Operation Excel is a community charitable partnership mobilized by a common desire to show their love and loyalty to Jesus Christ by helping the youth in the Clarksville community grow in spirit, mind and body. Operation Excel has a variety of programs to meet the needs of parents and add to each student's life. We offer life skill programs, vocational training, performing arts programs, sports and wellness class, internships, and academic enrichment and homework help. We provide stations to enhance the needs and increase interests in academics while enjoying learning.
Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center:
Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center provides comprehensive services that are accessible to the entire community. Services are provided through seven locations. The main site in Nashville includes primary care, adult and child dental services, women's health, orthopedics, ophthalmology, an on-site pharmacy and diagnostic center which provides laboratory and radiology services. Our Clarksville clinic in Clarksville, Tennessee is our second clinical site which focuses on providing medical and dental services for residents of Montgomery County and connecting counties including Robertson, Houston and Cheatham.
CenterStone:
Centerstone is the nation’s largest not-for-profit provider of community-based behavioral healthcare, offering a full range of mental health services, substance abuse treatment and related educational services in Indiana and Tennessee. In 2008, we served 64,000 individuals and families at our more than 120 facilities. We seek to prevent and cure mental illness and addiction.
